Before The Renovation

As you can see here, before the renovation took place, the bathroom was looking somewhat tired and ready for a makeover. Take note of the location of the vanity, shower and cistern. In this renovation, we didn’t relocate of these features – simply upgraded everything into a new, fresh bathroom. Working in this way alleviates the need to modify plumbing which helps to reduce the renovation budget.

The New Aesthetic

With strong grid-line created by the blue tiles, the new bathroom exists effortlessly between elements including a custom vanity unity, circular mirror, rain-shower head and general sense of luxurious embrace.

Renovation Shower Solution

This semi-frameless shower solution has room to move – literally and figuratively. The omission of the frame on the door-close point creates a limitless sensibility to this shower. Features within such as the brass rain shower head and brass drain remind participants that they’re showering somewhere special.

In this unit, we’ve allowed the brass / brushed copper style to highlight through the whole unit from the raised tapware down through the discrete handles. The wood finish with the plain benchtop is a popular style and can be used in either order (wood finish benchtop, plain vanity if you did it the other way around).

Basin & Mixer

In bathrooms, the details are what makes the renovation great. This brushed copper style that connects the tapware and drain, and the entire bathroom, contrasts nicely with the serious blue tiles to create an informed result. The gentle curves in this basin do well to offset the otherwise exact geometry of this bathroom, enhancing the textural visuals of the room.

Shower Head

Rain shower heads are a popular inclusion that in addition to making the shower experience more immersive, also add visual value to the bathroom design. Before The Renovation

Salmon tones abound in these pre-renovation shots. Also it is worth noting how much space the bath and the steps to the bath take up in the room – both of these were removed in the reno. Another note is the way that the tiling is crushing the perception of space in this room. The floor tiles are very busy, and their directions doen’t honour any flow through the room.

After The Renovation

In this renovation we kept the location of the toilet, vanity and shower the same to avoid moving any plumbing. We have installed a semi-frameless shower which by virtue of it’s transparency has a barely noticeable visual footprint in the room. The vanity in this renovation is a great result. It ’emerges’ from the similarly-toned flooring to bear the deluxe double-basins, table-mounted atop marble-look laminate.

Blue and Brass Renovation

This Gold Coast bathroom transform involves an upgrade, but not relocation, of all elements – cistern, shower and vanity. The main feature here is the fantastic tiling and the distinctive relationship between the deep-navy tiles and the brass fixtures and fittings that make up this renovation. Frameless Bathroom Renovation

In this reno, we ripped out the old bathtub and opted for a floor / wall tiling solution with lovely 600x600ml square tiles for a generous spacial impression. The open shower collaborates visually with the tiles to overcome the busy-ness of this bathroom, despite the relatively close proximity of shower, cistern and vanity. Note the tile insert drains providing some visual consistency across the room, and the way the darker benchtop laminate works with them to ground the room and hold the design together. Tiled Bathroom Niches

Tiled bathroom niches are an increasingly popular solution storage solution for common bathing items adjacent to showers and bathtubs. Our Gold Coast projects frequently feature the addition of a niche (or two) because they work well and look fantastic too. Hexagonal Tiled Features

What makes this bathroom a standout is the discrete application of some tiled variations to create visual depth, interest, and integration in the room. The walls are predominantly a gloss-white rectangular tile (300x600mm) which is enhanced by a feature-wall of gloss-white tiles with a hexagonal impression. It’s a subtle distinction, but its enhanced by the addition of two tiled niches with stainless-steel framing and marbled hexagonal tiles with high-contrast grout-lines for a couple of complimentary features.

Design Principal: Repetition

Repetition – it’s all about repeating elements through your design to create relationships. Every time you think about incorporating a new element (fixture, fitting, etc) pause and consider how it relates to other elements. Repetition can be used to different extents to guide the visual flow of the room.

Simple, Classy Colour Scheme

This bathroom utilises a winning colour scheme in grey and white tones. This combination is suitable for any modern bathroom, and it’s popular in many of our Gold Coast projects. By using this simple colour scheme, you can accessories with towels, plants, and lighting to create a variety of colourful and interesting effects, if you wish.

Free Standing Bathtub Option

Free-Standing Bathtub with Tiled Feature Wall

A real feature of this bathroom is the effect of the free-standing bathtub. Although this bathroom is not especially large, this free-standing tub solution creates the impression of visual space. It’s a functional addition that’s easy on the eyes.

Tile Insert Strip Drain

These are popular with our clients and there’s a good reason why. In a tiled floor there’s no reason to make a feature out of the waste. In this beautiful bathroom renovation, we used a rectangular tile inset strip waste for the shower and a similar square effect for the main bathroom waste. Seamless style means you can focus on the parts of the bathroom you really want to.

Double Vanity and Plumbing

Double-Basin Prefabricated Bathroom Vanity

In this renovation, our clients opted for a pre-fabricated double-basin vanity. Because the previous plumbing structure was built to serve a single basin, this renovation included advancement of the plumbing water & waste for the double option to work. The plumbing is neatly tucked away inside the vanity.

Toilet Renovation

Renovating this toilet we have kept the same theme going with 300 x 600 tiling on the floors and walls. The wall-mounted vanity is a great way to create some extra space in this small room. To make this happen we needed to move some plumbing, but the functional result is an independently operable toilet. Topped off by some gloss-white venetian blinds, who wouldn’t want to spend some time in this room?

Tiling Solution

These tiles have a long, thin horizontal disposition and they’re a non-conventional approach. Because of the soft colour tone, they create a pleasing, restful impression. Armrock’s tilers ensure tiles are laid as they should be, equipping the project for the installation of the vanity and shower.

Final Result

Our client has opted for a pre-fabricated vanity in this renovation. The circular mirror enhances the tiling for a mystical, relaxed vibe in this newly fresh, cleanly renovated Gold Coast bathroom.
